The Town Clerk/Treasurers office is in the Christiana Town Hall at 773 Koshkonong Road, Cambridge, WI 53523. Office hours are Tuesday & Thursday 9am-4pm Sept. 1st- May 31st and Tuesday & Thursday 9am-3pm June 1st- August 31st or by appointment.
The Clerk/Treasurer is responsible for a variety of administrative and financial duties including: the Town’s records custodian and is responsible for document retention, meeting notices, and Board records. The Clerk/Treasurer also manages elections, taxations, daily financial transactions, and licensing.
The primary focus of the Clerk/Treasure’s office is to provide reliable municipal services, conduct unbiased and impartial elections, and uphold the transparency and honesty of open government.

BUILDING PERMITS
You may need a Town of Christiana Building Permit if you are planning to:
•Build, repair, remodel, move, or otherwise plan to alter your property.
A Dane County Zoning Permit may also be needed if you are planning to:
• Alter an existing building
• Constructing a new building
• Doing major repairs/remodeling
• Constructing or altering a deck or other structures such as a fence
• Adding a solar collector
• Adding a bay or bow window
• Filling or grading in a wetland area
ZONING
The Town of Christiana follows Dane County Zoning. To determine what your zoning district is, visit the AccessDane website and search for your parcel by owner name, property number, or address. You’ll find your zoning district as well as a link to a page listing zoning restrictions for your zoning category and information about setbacks.
WHAT IF I DO NOT GET A PERMIT?
Ordinances and State Statutes require building permits. If you do not get a building permit when required the fees can be legally doubled, a stop work order will be posted and you could be fined every day the work is not in compliance. If you are not sure whether your project requires a building permit, please contact the inspector.

The Public Works department is the busiest department in the Town. Responsible for the year-round maintenance of streets, snow & ice removal, servicing and maintaining the town-owned vehicles, and general street and other services needed.
